About position

We are looking for a contract UI/UX designer who will be responsible for bringing our client’s products to life, visually. The UI/UX designer will work with the founder of Materialize and its clients to create user flow diagrams, low-fidelity wireframes, high-fidelity UI designs, and clickable prototypes.

Responsibilities

  • Create clean and simple user experiences for responsive websites and mobile applications.
  • Work with team members to translate requirements into wireframes, interaction flows, and artifacts.
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience.
  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering.
  • Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks.
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards.
  • Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Sketch, Invision, Figma, or similar
  • Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies.
  • An eye for clean and artful design.
  • Superior UI/UX skills and be able to translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and artifacts.
  • Demonstrable UI design skills with a strong portfolio.
  • Solid experience in creating: Wireframes, Storyboards, User flows, Process flows, Sitemaps.
  • Ability to present your designs to various stakeholders.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.

Qualifications

  • 3 years experience as a UI/UX designer, interaction designer, or similar role.
  • Portfolio or samples of work that demonstrate thought process, iteration and execution.
  • Experience with building attractive User Interfaces/Visual Design.
  • Experience in a collaborative environment, working directly with developers on design.
  • Fluency in best practices for mobile UI patterns.
