Revolutionizing Construction Operations Visibility

JHC: Construction Management

We partnered with a leading construction company to design and build a robust operations platform that supports the day-to-day needs of superintendents, field crews, and office administrators. The system streamlines daily logging, time tracking, payroll reporting, and safety compliance—bridging the communication gap between job sites and HQ.

Technologies used:

ReactJS (Web), Node.js, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, AWS S3

JHC: Construction Management
The Client
The Client
A large construction company with dozens of concurrent projects and a growing workforce, they oversee complex, multi-phase builds requiring coordination between field crews, project managers, and compliance staff. The client approached us with a clear mission: eliminate paperwork and create a centralized platform to manage daily job site operations more efficiently.
The Challenge
The Challenge
The client was using a fragmented set of tools—spreadsheets, phone calls, text messages, and paper forms—to manage critical workflows like time tracking, safety reporting, and job progress updates. These processes were error-prone, time-consuming, and offered little visibility for office teams. Key challenges included: Lack of standardized, digital daily logs Manual payroll processes with delayed field inputs; No centralized view of safety compliance activity; Role-specific data access and security requirements; Field crews with limited digital training and poor connectivity.
The Solution
The Solution
We developed a role-based operations platform tailored to the realities of construction job sites. The system enables field crews to quickly log time, complete checklists, and report incidents, while giving office admins access to real-time reports, compliance tracking, and exportable payroll data. The platform supports a wide range of users—from foremen and flagmen to project executives—ensuring everyone has access to the tools they need, when and where they need them.

Product Strategy

Product Strategy

Designing around user roles and real-world construction workflows.
We partnered closely with the client to identify the most critical user groups and workflows. Through interviews and field observations, we created detailed personas and mapped key use cases for job logging, time tracking, safety reporting, and project visibility. The platform was architected with flexibility in mind, supporting both long-term construction projects and short-term job sites.
Key deliverables:

  • Role-based access planning (e.g., superintendents, field crew, admins)
  • Workflow mapping based on field conditions
  • Prioritized feature roadmap driven by user stories

UI/UX Design

Product Design

Creating a seamless experience for fast-paced environments.
Our design team focused on simplicity and speed. Mobile users can complete tasks like logging hours or reporting incidents in just a few taps. Office users benefit from clear dashboards, export tools, and compliance overviews.
